Feyenoord defender David Hancko is close to joining Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr, several media have reported.

Last month, it already seemed that Feyenoord and Al Nassr had reached an agreement for the transfer of Hancko, with an official offer submitted and some changes to be made to finalise the deal.

However, negotiations slowed down due to the departure of Al Nassr's transfer management.

According to Dutch outlet Voetbal International, negotiations have resumed and are progressing towards a final agreement, which was also confirmed by journalist Santi Aouna.

Al Nassr are willing to offer a record amount for Dávid Hancko, which could exceed €40 million, breaking Feyenoord's previous record, set with the sale of Santiago Giménez to AC Milan for €35 million in January.

In Saudi Arabia, the Slovak will join a group of stars: in defence, he could form a solid partnership with Aymeric Laporte, formerly of Athletic Club and Manchester City, while in attack, the star is Cristiano Ronaldo, who has just renewed his contract for two years and is close to reaching the milestone of his 1,000th career goal.

Sadio Mané and midfielder Marcelo Brozovic complete the squad, with technical direction entrusted to new coach Jorge Jesus.
