David Ornstein: Grealish returns to training, expected back after international break

According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, Everton forward Jack Grealish has resumed training at the club's Finch Farm training ground and is aiming to return to the squad for the away match against Brentford after the international break. Grealish has missed three consecutive matches because of illness, a breach of club discipline and fitness issues.

The report states that Grealish is due to rejoin first-team training next week to prepare for the November 23 match against Brentford.

Grealish had been training separately from the Everton first team to regain his fitness. He will also miss Friday's home game against Coventry City.

On October 24, Grealish was absent from Everton's 2-0 away defeat to Arsenal, and the club said at the time that he was unavailable because of illness.

Five days later, Everton announced that Grealish had been left out of the squad for the League Cup home match against Newcastle United because of a "breach of club discipline."

Everton manager David Moyes said last month that it was a "club decision" and that he supported it.

Sources familiar with the situation said Grealish was excluded from that League Cup match because he had been absent from training without permission.

Grealish then missed the next Premier League match against Newcastle United because he had not recovered his fitness. That is also one of the reasons he cannot play in Friday's match against Coventry City.

On Thursday, when confirming that Grealish would miss the Coventry City match, Moyes said: "I won't tell you the exact plan, but we will soon start working with Jack again in training."
