David Villa, former Spanish international footballer, paid tribute this Thursday to the late Enrique Castro 'Quini', whom he described as "one of the people who most influenced" his sporting career and shaped his personality.
"He is the best goalscorer in the history of Spanish football," Villa said of the Asturian football legend—with whom he played at Sporting Gijón at the beginning of his career—during the 'Quini' Awards ceremony, which recognizes the top Asturian goalscorers across various levels of Spanish football.
Among the award winners were Sporting players Juan Otero and Gaspar Campos, Valencia footballer Diego López, and the young debutant in the First Division, Pablo Agudín, as a player for Oviedo.
