Kevin De Bruyne could make a shock return for Manchester City at Anfield this weekend.
The central midfielder – ahead of schedule following August’s knee ligament injury - started training with Pep Guardiola’s squad this week.
Guardiola confirmed De Bruyne is back in normal sessions and suggested there is a chance he may be involved against Liverpool.
‘We will see tomorrow,’ Guardiola said. ‘He made a part of the training session. He is training with us, yes.’
De Bruyne had initially been eyeing up the Manchester derby on November 11 as a potential comeback but has made real progress over the last fortnight.
Sunday could yet come a week too soon for the Belgian and his injury was in part put down to De Bruyne's heavy summer but he is eyeing the first derby of the season as a possible comeback.
City – who are keeping an eye on Ilkay Gundogan’s fitness - are taking a different route through Merseyside after the attack on their bus before April’s Champions League defeat.
Their coach will be equipped with cameras to capture any wrongdoing and Guardiola added: ‘Liverpool should be upset, not me. The police knew it before it happened. Now they know what happened and I don’t know what will happen.’
The City manager also addressed suggestions Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool have sussed them out.
‘Good, congratulations – they are right,’ he said. ‘We won the Premier League. We won at home in the league and lost there. The Champions League is completely different.’

It would be great to see KDB back to the squad as he is one of the main player in our team. But at the same time I think it won’t be good to rush him back for this match coz that might again risk him for injury or he won’t be at his best form. Anyway Pep knows whats best, and we don’t doubt his decision. I know whatever he decides will be best for the team. And abt the match, I think we got pretty good chance of beating Liverpool even though its at Anfield. The only thing we need to be aware of is their counter attack.. #GoCityzens

The best way to stop attack’s on opposition team is to deduct points from the home team I am sure the home team will make sure that what happened to ManC team at Liverpool will not happen again

Pep is a genius. He will make the media knows so much. KDB was just relaxing and resting from the WC blues, never really injured. CITY4LIFE.
