Roy Keane's scathing assessment of David De Gea's goalkeeping credentials may have divided opinion but former Premier League goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer says questions need to be asked about the Spaniard.
De Gea allowed Steven Steven Bergwijn's shot to squirm through his grasp for Tottenham's goal against United on Friday, before a Bruno Fernandes penalty salvaged a point.
Schwarzer offered a more measured assessment than Keane's fury and said that the Spaniard could be under pressure for his place in the team once Dean Henderson returns from his loan at Sheffield United.
'Over the past 18 months David de Gea has made a considerable amount of mistakes and that's not expected from a keeper at that level,' said Schwarzer, who enjoyed an established Premier League career with Middlesbrough, Fulham, Chelsea and Leicester.
'For a top, world-class keeper, the maximum number of mistakes leading to a goal shouldn't be more than two a season and he's clearly made more than that.
'It will come to a head, when you've got Dean Henderson playing so well at Sheffield United and he's made it clear he won't sit on the bench.
'Is Henderson good enough to take the number one shirt at United? He has the potential.'

Mark and Kean should back off, everyone makes mistakes... Allison trys to dribble a player and the ball was taken and resulted to goal, Elderson made two mistakes in one game, I can't even mentioned kepa because he has being picking the balls from d net whenever d ball comes to him...
so what's ur point? Should we not be speaking about these recent mistakes coz other keepers in other clubs also make mistakes? What happens in other clubs do not matter, DDG is a united player and needs to find his best form, be benched or we find another keeper. We are grateful for his saves for many years but no one can be the best forever, don't speak of other clubs and players, this is Manchester united and our keeper for a while now has been costing the club valuable points

It was a rocket of a shot which he got a hand to but couldn't stop. The error was to be shared by Shaw, McGuire and the other two defenders who allowed the forward to get by them. It was shitty defending and De gea wasn't able to save our asses this time so they blame. This is biased reasoning

Why are these biased pundits after Degea? That shot was a rocket and he got a hand to it but couldn't keep it out. The forward got by 3 defenders before firing and I don't hear much about that or the stunning save he made later in the game or our poor finishing. I don't consider the goal Degea's mistake
