According to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, Ajax defender Matthijs de Ligt is close to joining Juventus for €70m with a contract worth €20m per year.
The centre-back had seemingly whittled down the list of pretenders to Paris Saint-Germain and Juve, despite interest also from Barcelona, Real Madrid and Manchester United.
Now De Telegraaf claims De Ligt is on the verge of a move to Juventus for €70m.
Sky Sport Italia transfer pundit Gianluca Di Marzio also states this evening that the Bianconeri have suddenly stepped up their efforts for the Dutch international defender.
He would put pen to paper on a contract worth somewhere between €15-20m per season, making him the second highest paid player in Serie A after Cristiano Ronaldo on €30m.

People keep saying that he is only looking for money and honestly whats wrong with that? As beautiful as the game is, its a business, a job that these guys can make an exorbant amount of money in, its also a job that has a shelf life till your in your lowers 30s for the most part before your considered old. Hell i would be doing the same thing cause just because your 34 and old in a sport your still young as hell. i would be doing the exact thing this kid is doing. Looking for the team that will pay, allow me to play everygame so i can ask for more money down the road cause in 12 years or so his career is over and lets not forget these guys always run the risk of a career ending injury, so yea i agree with him looking for money.
