Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson reportedly has no intention of being second choice at Old Trafford - telling Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to either make him No.1 or find him a new club.
The English shot stopper has returned to his boyhood club on the back of two impressive seasons with Sheffield United, and there have been calls for him to replace the error-prone David de Gea in goal.
The Spaniard has been United's undisputed No.1 goalkeeper for the last nine seasons, but according to the Sun, Henderson does not want to be his understudy and has told Solskjaer to let him leave if he cannot guarantee first team football.
Henderson is said to have admirers at Chelsea, who are having a goalkeeping crisis of their own after Frank Lampard became underwhelmed by the performances of £70million man Kepa Arrizabalaga and benched him for Willy Caballero.
The 23-year-old made 97 saves in goal for the Blades as they made a push for European football under Chris Wilder, as he also contributed with 13 clean sheets to help the team boast one of the best defences in the division.
He began his career at United and has been sent on on five loan spells - coming alive at Bramall Lane as the team won promotion in 2018-19 before gaining further plaudits this season and earning his first England call up in October.
The spotlight was shone on De Gea after his glaring error in the 3-1 FA Cup semi-final loss to Chelsea, with the Spaniard allowing Mason Mount's tame shot to squirm under him.
And in December he was left embarassed after failing to keep a looping shot out of his top corner against Watford as he let in a weak bouncing shot - collapsing to the turf in disbelief.
United fans have been leading the calls for Henderson to be given a chance after becoming concerned at the 29-year-old's decline, but he will be eager to ensure he continues to enjoy regular action with the Euros on the horizon next summer.
The England No.1 jersey is still up for grabs with no obvious stand-out at present and 2018 World Cup starter Jordan Pickford out of form.
Solskjaer is plotting an overhaul at United and is closing in on the signing of Jadon Sancho from Dortmund in a deal that could exceed £100m.
But consistency from his man in the sticks should also be a priority as he bids to turn the team into title challengers next season.

David De Gea is a world class stopper. Henderson is playing with less pressure at the moment, but the pressure of being a man utd goalie is very huge. He should try and study a little bit from the world best goalkeeper in david De Gea

If you think you can just replace David De Gea because you’ve had a few good seasons, you’re crazy. And for those United fans that don’t back DDG are just as crazy. There’s no one better on his day.

Then let the young keeper go and develop elsewhere. He also deserves first team action, at United or somewhere else
