Dembele: You can't play for Barca for 4 years without a healthy lifestyle

Ousmane Dembele has hit out at critics who have looked to blame him for his injury struggles since moving to Camp Nou.

One topic which has long been criticised surrounding Dembele has been his lifestyle since moving to Spain, which many said caused him to suffer so badly with injuries.

"You can't play for Barcelona for four years without a healthy lifestyle," he insisted, speaking to beIN Sports.

"Now I'm playing well, in the dressing room they call me Eto'o, Messi helps me a lot.

"I'm happy at Barcelona, we'll see what happens in the future."

However, he did also look back on the bad times.

"I always kept smiling, even after an injury," he remembered.

The interview also took a more light-hearted turn, returning to a question once asked to him of which foot he is stronger on, which confused a teen Dembele who felt equally comfortable on both feet.

"My best foot? I prefer to drive the ball with my left and shoot with my right," he responded.

He was also asked about the people he most admires in the game.

"[Pierre-Emerick] Aubameyang is the person I like the most in football, [Thomas] Tuchel is my favourite coach, it would have been difficult to leave Dortmund if he hadn't have left," the winger admitted.

"I like to watch [Riyad] Mahrez, everytime I watch him, it's incredible,"

Dembele is now pushing for a double with Barcelona, having already secured the Copa del Rey, but he has not started any of Barcelona's last three games in LaLiga Santander.
