In La Liga, nobody gets remotely close to matching the output of Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi.
The Argentine's brace against Eibar on the final round of games saw him finish on 50 goals for the season - 36 in La Liga - as he comfortably finished as top scorer.
But while he was in a league of his own this season in Spain, Messi would not have enjoyed such dominance over his peers had he been playing in the Premier League, it has been revealed.
Let's take chances created as one such example. Messi created 92 in La Liga this season, edging out Alaves' Jony, who got 85.
But a cross-check to the Premier League shows that Leicester City's James Maddison performed better than Messi as he produced 100 created chances.
Eden Hazard created 95 and Bournemouth winger Ryan Fraser created 93, both beating Messi's total for the season.
Messi's total tally of 36 league goals blows away any competition coming from England - he would have wrapped up the Golden boot long before the season finale.
In fact, of 15 key stats analysed, Messi, compared to those in the Premier League, came out on top in just eight of them.
He was robbed of a clean sweep in La Liga as Celta Vigo's Sofiane Boufal completed 144 take-ons, which beat Messi's tally of 134.
Hazard, who in a research study was described as the closest player to Messi in terms of similarity, won 13 more fouls than the Barcelona man and also made 70 passes more in the final third.
The Belgian could put comparisons to the test next season should he complete a move to La Liga with Real Madrid determined to land him this summer.

Mohammad Salah(A fregile boy) goes and rule the league. Aubameyang goes and rule the league. And here tou are telling us that Leo Messi wouldn't rule premier league with the talent he has? Are you kidding or what? If Mohammad Salah can dominate it who is not half of what Leo Messi is, then why not Leo Messi?

When Barca Flop Andre Gomes and Lucas Digne becomes great,Salah who was irrelevant going places breakes records, Aubameyang who wasn't even close to winning major individual awards in Bundesliga and ends up winning Golden boot in PL, you know the level of PL. While there are players who outdid Messi in such stats, how many topped Messi in terms of goals and assists? The fact that Messi as an attacker being compared to midfielders while retaining top spot at attackers list shows how great he is. Had he joined City 2 years ago as the rumors suggested,he would have conquered EPL. If Auba,Salah,Gomes,Digne can do it, Messi could do it with closed eyes.

I am premier league die hard, but truly if Messi were to play in EPL he would score 70 80 Goals a season. bcoz Messi had been the night mare of the top six EPL clubs in great European competitions, how do you imagine him playing against Everton Cardiff Westham, etc. for young afers bear in mind that just a few years ago EPL is a dumping ground of retiring European players just as major league and Chinese. where players such as klinsman, vialli, Gullit, Dicanio, Suker, Weah, morientes, laudrup, Davids, Diarra,Brolin,Mancini,Artilio Lombardo.etc.all come to 🏃 run out there careers softly. that is why EPL can never be rated as young football fans expected cos history matters. that is why they seldom produce world best players. sorry this bitter comments but is educational for up and coming football fans.

Yes he has scored against all top six and those top 6 have been his team as well, brutally on occasions. How many matches did it take him to score against Chelsea. Where did he not showcase himself against Liverpool in the return leg Where was he when Chelsea dumped them out. The fact is EPL is tougher and Messi would find life difficult in the premier league. Ask Pep and he will tell you Barca as a team will be in a serious battle for Top 4 unlike being a normal position one candidate in Spain. EPL is so unpredictable He scored against the top six on one off occasions. Can he do that on a weekly basis in a league that compete in 4 competitions every year? Trust me the answer is NO

the fact is that epl fans think too highly of that league. the managers that make the league tick are la liga products, if you discount the fact that klopp is from Germany. so noisy fellows who do not appreciate that football in Spain is at a higher level than epl. Messi has nothing to prove in England. the best clubs are still in Spain and the technical heads get their inspiration from Spain! man city, Spurs, arsenal, wolves, Watford, Everton etc all coached by technical teams from Spain. the fans in epl should rather bury their heads in shame for making so much noise. is there any English man coaching any epl team (probably those just relegated)?

exactly , even if he couldn't dominate epl I'm damn sure he would definitely win many epls because he has 26( 2 against Liverpool this season ) goals against epl top 6 even though he has not played in epl . that is proof enough to say he would win epl.
