Di Canio: Chivu needs to call out individual players after Inter Milan defeat

Di Canio insists Chivu and Inter should be disappointed by Atletico's winner scored by Jose Gimenez in injury-time.

After Wednesday's 2-1 defeat, Di Canio said on Sky Italia:  "Chivu made a good assessment, then he has to analyse all the situations. But when you can't score and it's 1-1, and they could have made it 2-1, but you didn't concede because you defended well, for example with (Alessandro) Bastoni, you can't concede that goal. Otherwise, we're still talking about a worthy performance, but with the usual flaw.

"Chivu didn't mention it, he said the three best jumpers were in the penalty area. This is serious, we're talking about Inter, who can win, and I agree, but now there are some character doubts.

"If Chivu, who was a defender and played with a helmet, doesn't tone them down, his calm communication is beautiful, but... I think he'll make himself heard. I'm fine with the 'we', but I also want the 'you' " so that he can go to the individual and say: 'Oh, damn it, do you want to look around? Do I have to call you and tell you that guy is 80 metres away?' But this is individual responsibility in addition to the missed markers.

"The jumpers mark the area, because it's dangerous, but who catches the one who arrives? If you can't jump with him, then you'll disturb him."
