Angel Di Maria believes that Lionel Messi is playing well for Argentina despite the No.10 not quite grabbing headlines in his usual manner at this summer's Copa America.
Messi has only scored once for his country this summer, from the penalty spot, but the Paris Saint-Germain player believes that other aspects of the game are more important in the Copa America.
"We're used to seeing him score goals, but I think Leo is doing very well," Di Maria said.
"He's running and working. He knows more than anyone that the Copa America means you have to run and then think about the rest after."
The Albiceleste started poorly but have made it to the semi-finals, where they will meet hosts Brazil.

The difference between Portugal and Argentina is that in Argentina, they always expect messi to show up and score at all time and that is not how football works. In Portugal ronaldo hasn't scored in any national competition final but has two trophies with his country because his team mates know that he can't carry the load alone so they have to support but such is the complete opposite for Argentina; messi has to attack, he has to score, he has to dribble , he has to play midfield, he has to even go and defend and do everything while others stand and watch. If only they played as one, they would have won at least 1 world cup and copa america. Portugal has more team focus and togetherness than Argentina.
