According to journalist Di Marzio, Raphinha is expected to remain sidelined for Brazil's round-of-16 match against Norway.
After a last-minute victory over Japan, Carlo Ancelotti's Brazil continue their preparations for the round of 16. Their next opponent is an in-form Norway side, led by the outstanding Haaland. The match will take place at 20:00 UTC (CEST) on July 6th.
However, Carlo Ancelotti is once again expected to be without Raphinha. Raphinha has been sidelined since the second group stage match against Haiti. Examinations confirmed a hamstring injury, which caused him to miss the matches against Scotland and Japan. According to multiple local media reports, the Barcelona winger is also expected to miss the Norway match, with his goal being to return for the quarterfinals if Brazil advances. If Brazil progresses, the quarterfinals will be against the winner of the Mexico vs. England match.
Ancelotti will use Rayan, born in 2006 and from Bournemouth, to fill the void left by Raphinha. In the round of 16, midfielder Paqueta is also expected to be absent. He suffered a muscle injury against Japan and is almost certain to miss the Norway game, while his return for the quarterfinals, should Brazil advance, remains doubtful.
