Di Marzio: Under political pressure, Italian FA president blocks Pirlo's appointment

According to Di Marzio, Pirlo's appointment as head coach of the Italy national team has been forced to be put on hold.

Di Marzio says the plan for Pirlo to become the next head coach of the national team has been halted. The statement just released by Pirlo's lawyer and Pirlo himself has fully clarified his cooperation with the Russian betting company. Everything had originally appeared to be in place, but under enormous political pressure, FA president Malagò has not yet approved moving the matter forward, causing the entire process to be suspended.

As a result, the meeting originally scheduled for Monday will be canceled, and the preparatory work that had been planned to be finalized with the Italian Football Federation on Monday morning has now come to a complete halt. In the next few hours, Italian football, currently in a period of turmoil, will turn a new page. Rejecting Pirlo could lead to the early departure of technical director Maldini, while consultant Leonardo could also leave if the newly appointed head coach ultimately does not align with the established plan.
