Didier Deschamps advises Barcelona's Ousmane Dembele

France coach Didier Deschamps said on Thursday that Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele has "room to improve".

Les Bleus' coach called up the forward along with Lucas Digne, Mamadou Sakho and Kurt Zouma, along with Tanguy Ndombele  for his friendly against Iceland and then a UEFA Nations League clash with Germany.

"He's having a great start to the season with Barcelona and is scoring goals," said Deschamps of Dembele. "He has attacking characteristics that let him unblock situations, but he has a margin for progression in a team where he has a lot of competition."

"I think that he's not totally conscious of the demand that is placed at a high level, but he has characteristics that let him destabilise the opponent. If he keeps adding others, as he has done at the start of the season, he will be even better."
