Snoop Dogg has revealed his Premier League ambition for Swansea City in the US rapper's first interview since becoming co-owner of the Championship club last year.
The hip-hop mogul is one of a number of high-profile investors in the Swans with a view to recreating the runaway success of celebrity ownership up and down the English football pyramid.
The 54-year-old followed the lead of former Real Madrid star and Croatia icon Luka Modric, and Snoop has since recruited his friend Martha Stewart to join the band of investors.
Speaking to WalesOnline, Snoop was adamant that the influx of cash and celebrity attention will set the team on a path to achieving promotion back to the Premier League, with the star outlining his desire to transform the Welsh club into a global powerhouse.
'I want to be real hands on, I want to take the club in a direction maybe it hasn't been before,' Snoop shared.
'We want to take Swansea to the Premier League, and to do that we are going to need money - that's the reality of the game these days.'
Snoop will look to use his own pull in a bid to attract new deals, adding that he was keen to introduce 'publicity' that could make the club 'a global name'.
While the club remains interested in attracting new investors, Snoop was adamant that only those with the right credentials would be invited in.
'It's got to be somebody who can bring more than just money. Are they bringing soccer experience, connections, a global name that attracts attention and revenue - you got to be bringing something if you want a seat at this table.'
Adding that he had 'always wanted to invest in a soccer team', Snoop stressed that it was Swansea's 'passionate and real' fans that had tipped the balance for him opting to take the plunge with the team.
Snoop is yet to watch Swansea in person, although his son Cordell Broadus - and Stewart - have both taken in matches, with the lifestyle entrepreneur opting to watch Swansea's 2-1 victory against Wrexham in December.
While challenging for promotion this season looks some way off, with the Swans stuck in 16th in the league standings, the team put in an energetic performance in their spirited 3-1 defeat against Manchester City in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.
