Dortmund have a verbal agreement to keep Haaland until at least 2022 (AS)

Borussia Dortmund have a verbal agreement with Erling Haaland and his agent, Mino Raiola, which will keep the striker at the club until 2022, according to AS.

The 19-year-old, who scored the opening goal in Dortmund's 4-0 thrashing of Schalke on Saturday, has emerged as the hottest young forward in Europe this season after bursting onto the scene with Red Bull Salzburg.

Reports in Spain have suggested that Real Madrid want to team Haaland up with Eden Hazard and Kylian Mbappe in a new-look front three, but a move for the Norwegian is likely to prove problematic.

Spanish newspaper AS say that although Dortmund do not have a clause in Haaland's contract which would prevent him from leaving now, they do have an agreement with Raiola.

The young forward only moved to Germany in January and it is claimed that the super-agent will only be permitted to negotiate a move for his client in the summer of 2022.

Should Real Madrid, or any other club, wish to sign Haaland before that date, they would need to pay at least £107million to secure his signature.

Haaland has been in incredible form this season, scoring 41 times for Salzburg and Dortmund, including 13 goals in just eight starts for the Bundesliga giants.

His form has attracted serious interest from Real, who are in the market for a long-term replacement for Karim Benzema, and Manchester United, who pulled out of a deal to sign him in January over fees due to Raiola and Haaland's father, Alfe-Inge.

AS claim that reports that the striker has a £67m release clause are not true, and that Dortmund would want to almost quadruple their initial investment in the forward should they sell him within 18 months.

Meanwhile, Raiola has claimed that his client rejected the chance to join Juventus in January because the club did not plan on using him in the first team.

The Italian-born agent has a history of doing deals with the Italian giants, but he insists that moving Haaland there would have made no sense.

'Why Haaland didn't move to Juventus? They would have put him in the Under-23 squad,' Raiola told Italian outlet La Repubblica.
