Dortmund mock PSG on social media as they reference post from 4 years ago

Borussia Dortmund have used Paris Saint-Germain's social media post from four years ago to mock the French club after knocking them out of the Champions League at the semi-finals stage.

Mats Hummels scored as Dortmund won 1-0 away in the second leg against PSG, with the German side securing a 2-0 victory on aggregate.

Dortmund will take on either Real Madrid or Bayern Munich in the final as they look to win the Champions League for the first time since 1997.

After securing their place at the final at Wembley, Dortmund evidently hadn't forgotten PSG's tweet after the round of 16 clash between the two sides in 2020.

In that tie Dortmund won 2-1 in the first leg but PSG won 2-0 in the second leg in Paris to prevail with a 3-2 aggregate victory.

Following PSG's win in 2020 they posted a tweet which included the caption 'and breathe' accompanied by a picture of the PSG squad including Kylian Mbappe mimicking Erling Haaland's famous meditation celebration.

After their win on Tuesday night, Dortmund had the last laugh as they quoted the tweet and posted: 'Tastes like fine wine'.

Haaland, now of Manchester City, had scored twice for Dortmund in the first leg in 2020 and then posted an image of him celebrating accompanied by the caption: 'Zensational win'.

Neymar copied Haaland's celebration after scoring for PSG in the second leg, with many of his team-mates doing likewise after the game.

PSG's anguish towards Haaland appeared to stem from a fake post that went viral.

A picture of Haaland with the caption 'my city, not yours' with 'Paris' handwritten across his jumper was purportedly taken from his Snapchat account.

However, the post was understood to be fake.
