Paco Alcacer will be given a chance to resurrect his career at the top level with a season long loan spell with Borussia Dortmund, and the German club will pay a 2.2 million euros loan fee.
The Spanish forward hasn't found life at the Camp Nou particularly easy, with Luis Suarez often keeping him out of the Barcelona team.
As a result consistency hasn't been forthcoming, and all involved will hope for a brighter life in the Bundesliga.
Borussia Dortmund have spent the entirety of the summer transfer window trying to replace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The Gabon international left for Arsenal in January, and the loan of Michy Batshuayi only temporarily covered the gap in their squad.
With the Belgian goal-scorer having joined Valencia this summer, the German club have been forced to look at other options and the Spaniard was at the very top of their list.
A permanent purchase option is embedded into the deal and it stands at between 20 and 25 million euros according to BILD.
At just 24 years old the former Valencia forward still has a lot of years left to reach his potential, something that will be greatly aided by regular football.
Barcelona haven't yet completed their business for the summer with Rafinha still likely to leave the club on loan, with Real Betis having shown the biggest interest to this point.

Ask for more? Barcelona should just free the poor guy. He deserve a place where he will be starting week in week out. He's a very good striker.

Let him go cause he's not in Valverde's plans even though he's a good striker. Dortmund will surely get the best out of him cause he has goals in him!

He needs regular playing time and Dortmund will offer him that, so this is a great option for him cos he is still young and got what it takes to be a top notch striker in the coming seasons ahead but only with regular playing time
