Liverpool are reportedly set to sport the gold FIFA Club World Cup winners badge on their kits for one Premier League game.
The Reds were crowned world champions on Saturday night in Qatar after a 1-0 win over Brazilian side Flamengo.
And as a result, Liverpool are now entitled to wear the celebratory emblem on their shirts in the Champions League for the rest of this season and next.
But Premier League rules dictated that a formal application was required for anything different to be added to registered strips for domestic competition.
The club made a request and it appears permission has been granted - for one league match.
According to a report in the Telegraph today, that game will be Wolves at home on the 29th of December.
But the Reds may face a bit of a race against time to get the badge and shirts prepared for that fixture.
FIFA were said to be planning to host an official ceremony to present the badge to Liverpool. And the Telegraph claims that "[h]eading into the festive schedule, Liverpool had not received the badge" from the governing body.
Speaking about the badge last week, a spokesperson for FIFA told Liverpoolfc.com: "As per the usage guidelines, the winning team can wear the FIFA World Champions Badge from the day it becomes champions up to and including the final of the next edition of the tournament."
They confirmed only the club's first team may display the badge, adding: "The badge may only be used on the current official team playing shirts.
"That means that the FIFA World Champions Badge may not be used on previous [or] historical versions of the team shirts, training jerseys, tracksuits, training tops or any other products."
Back in 2008/09 when Manchester United won the Club World Cup, they were given permission to wear the gold crest in FA Cup games.
Liverpool take on Atletico Madrid in the Champions League quarter-final in February and March, with the badge set to appear on kits during those matches.

It seems wearing this batch is more difficult than winning the CWC title

What has my Liverpool team done to FA? Why only one game and not all season? Are they not happy that we are representing the country? Now that we have more major trophies than Utd? Anyways it's fine, cause it is said that, people enjoy more when you are suffering than when you are progressing. All the best to team. YNWA

I think we also need VAR on this one to know why they only need it for one game.
