ESPN: Real Madrid may sell Vinicius if contract extension fails, they won't raise offer

After his post-World Cup vacation, Vinicius is expected to return to Valdebebas for pre-season training on Monday, the 3rd, local time. His future remains uncertain, with only one year left on his current contract.

Sources told ESPN that a meeting date has not yet been set between Real Madrid officials and the Brazilian player's representatives. Real Madrid believes it is now up to the player to decide whether to sign a new contract or seek a departure.

A source told ESPN that if Vinicius chooses to transfer, Arsenal believe they would be in a favorable position. However, sources close to the player indicate that Vinicius's side has not yet been contacted by the Premier League club.

ESPN previously reported that Arsenal are interested in the winger and have been exploring the feasibility of completing a deal.

A long-standing stalemate has developed between Real Madrid and Vinicius' representatives regarding a new contract.
