Max Eberl praises Bayern's top striker Kane. In an interview with the club magazine, he spoke about Kane's development at Bayern and revealed an impressive anecdote.

Bayern Munich and Kane are a perfect match. Since his move from Tottenham Hotspur in the 2023/24 season to the German record champions, the Englishman has not only achieved a historic goal-scoring rate but also won the 2024 Ballon d'Or; under coach Kompany, he is also one of the absolute core leaders.

In an interview with Bayern Munich's "51" magazine, Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl spoke about the 33-year-old's growth and revealed a scenario where Kane's performance particularly impressed him.

Max Eberl recalled the 2024/25 season. In Kompany's first year as coach, Bayern Munich lost 1-4 to Barcelona in an away Champions League match. Max Eberl recounted: "After the game, Vinny asked everyone: 'What do you think?'" Kane, who scored Bayern Munich's only goal that night, "stood up and gave a powerful speech that cut straight to the chase." This deeply moved the 53-year-old Max Eberl.

The Bayern Munich sporting director reflected on this seemingly crucial moment in Kane's career with the record champions, stating: "Since then, he has always been at the forefront, never backing down."

Kane "Extraordinary"

Furthermore, Max Eberl believes Kane is "the best example of how much a player can still grow when all the qualities fit together." In his view, for a player to achieve individual success on the football pitch, there also needs to be a harmonious team behind them. The sporting director added: "In a team with constant problems, even Kane would find it harder to perform at his level."

And now, the Englishman is surrounded by exactly the right setup. "We already knew he was a top striker. But what he is delivering now, and the role the system and his teammates provide for him, is truly extraordinary."

The 33-year-old's statistics are convincing: Kane has scored 156 goals in 159 official matches across all competitions for Bayern Munich, becoming the league's top scorer every season since moving to the German record champions, and winning the Golden Boot twice as Europe's highest-scoring striker. The Ballon d'Or ceremony added the most significant recognition to Kane's successful period at Bayern Munich.

For this reason, Bayern Munich is also continuing to pursue a contract extension with the English goal-scorer. Only a few details remain. Kane's current contract with the record champions runs until the summer of 2027.
