According to Brazilian media ge, Ederson Silva learned he would represent Brazil at the World Cup only when he was attending a wedding.

Ederson Silva was on vacation in his hometown of Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul. On Saturday night, he attended the wedding of player Rômulo, who currently plays for Tigres UANL in Mexico.

Although Ederson Silva knew he was on the 55-man preliminary World Cup roster, he no longer held out hope of being called up. Therefore, he did not bring his passport when he went to Campo Grande; his passport was in Rio de Janeiro at the time.

On Sunday morning, the Atalanta midfielder suddenly received a call from the Brazilian Football Confederation, informing him of his selection. After the initial excitement, the player, his family, and his agent team began to quickly arrange travel details.

Ederson Silva asked a friend to bring his passport to São Paulo, where he would take a flight to New Jersey to join the Brazilian team. Meanwhile, the player's wife also went to prepare her husband's suitcase and travel clothes.

While trying to reply to hundreds of congratulatory messages, Ederson Silva traveled from Campo Grande to São Paulo that afternoon, planning to fly to the United States that night. He will join the Brazilian team on Monday morning and participate in his first national team training session in the afternoon.

Brazil will play Morocco in their first World Cup match, scheduled for 6:00 AM Beijing time (CEST) on June 14.
