The Senegalese Football Federation has officially informed national team head coach Aliou Cissé that they are parting ways with him.
In recent times, growing dissatisfaction with the team's performances and results has led to this decision.
According to Taggat, the Senegalese Football Federation intends to prioritize local coaches over foreign candidates in their search for a new head coach.
Aliou Cissé had been the head coach of Senegal since 2015. He led the "Lions of Teranga" to two consecutive World Cup appearances and guided them to their first-ever Africa Cup of Nations triumph in 2021.
At AFCON 2023, Senegal was eliminated in the Round of 16.
