OFFICIAL: Kylian Mbappe has signed a new contract with Paris Saint-Germain!
It's now official: Kylian Mbappe will be staying with Paris Saint-Germain, with his renewal agreement being made official in a statement released by the Parisian club on Saturday evening.
Ahead of the Ligue 1 clash with Metz, Nasser Al-Khelaifi and Mbappe joined each other on the pitch to make clear to the supporters that the 23-year-old is staying at the Parc des Princes.
Few anticipated such an outcome as recently as one week ago, with it clear that Real Madrid and Mbappe had reached an agreement on the terms of his contract at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.
This agreement included a significant salary, a signing-on fee of 130 million euros and total control of his own image rights.
It was a contract never before offered by Los Blancos, yet Mbappe and his entourage were swayed by political pressure from Qatar and France, and he kept channels of dialogue open with PSG throughout the entire process.
Impact of Mbappe's renewal
PSG have acquiesced to all of Mbappe's demands and he now finds himself in a position of incredible power at the Parc des Princes.
A new sporting director will replace Leonardo as per Mbappe's instruction, and there may also be another coach appointed to replace Mauricio Pochettino, and the forward will have an input in that process too.
Doubts grew in Madrid on Saturday morning after rumours emerged on Friday night that Mbappe wouldn't be coming to the Spanish capital, and there is now a feeling of anger within the club at how the player used Los Merengues.
Florentino Perez had never before made such concessions to a player, and he even moved away from signing Erling Haaland in order to focus all his efforts on Mbappe.
Perez has now been left with neither player, and will have to console himself with potentially winning the Champions League against the odds in Paris next Saturday, May 28.

Good decision mbappe Even if you go to Madrid, the won't treat you as a king, stay where you are treated like a king 👑. Thanks for learning lessons to what Madrid did to "RONALDO" their all time best and "RAMOS" their all time best captain.

And you forgot that Realmadrid made an offer twice worth millions dollars. I don't see any point here in this comment
Do Madrid accept any offer from teams that wants their players? Leave Mbappe and Psg alone

Yeah, I also thought the same, Mbappe can't treat his home team like that.

you're right. I rarely read where big clubs sign players from Real Madrid.
