With the World Cup less than two months away, players will be keen to put in strong performances for their clubs to cement their involvement in Gareth Southgate's plans.
Fikayo Tomori continued to impress during AC Milan's 2-0 win over Juventus in which he netted whereas defenders Trent Alexander-Arnold and Kyle Walker have had bad times with the Liverpool man being torn apart by Gabriel Martinelli and Walker having to undergo surgery on his groin.
Here we look at some of the winners and losers of this week's club action with one eye on England's possible squad for Qatar.
Good week
Fikayo Tomori
He is perhaps the best English defender on current form — but the Milan man’s main contribution this weekend was in the other box as he scored in their 2-0 win over Juventus.
Harry Kane
The skipper has scored in four straight league games now after he flicked in a clever header to secure the win at Brighton.
He seems to be gaining momentum at the right time.
Mason Mount
Graham Potter hailed Mount as a ‘fantastic player and person — he brings so much energy and is really responsible’. The Chelsea man notched two assists in their win over Wolves and will make a late charge for a spot in the XI.
Bad week
Kyle Walker
Not his fault but a sad week for Walker, whose World Cup chances hang in the balance after the Manchester City man was forced to undergo groin surgery.
Trent Alexander-Arnold
one man who might have stepped up in Walker’s absence is Alexander-Arnold. But he had another horror show defensively — he could have done better with the first two of Arsenal’s three goals. He was substituted at half-time for Joe Gomez.
James Maddison
After a brace and an assist on Monday night, the Leicester man failed to capitalise on his good form at Bournemouth on Saturday, after the Foxes slumped to another poor defeat on the road.

Trent is a good footballer but not a natural defender....end of d debate...
His a good footballer I agree but not a good defender they should try him in midfield.

Klopp did an experiment with the formation by putting a 4-2-3-1 and it kind of works although not the best way out but atleast goals are being scored. The next experiment he shud go for is to put TAA in the midfield and see if it works. If TAA plays RM Klopp can play his usual 4-3-3. Gomez at right back was way too good defensively compared to TAA. Hopefully both Diaz and TAA returns ASAP.
