England footballer 'kicked out by wife' after he "fell in love" with £55k escort

An England and Premier League star has been sent packing from his family home by his wife after splashing out £55,000 on an escort he had fallen in love with, according to reports.

The Sun claims the unnamed player sent messages to the woman and received 'smutty' pictures in return. The report claims the England player spent £35,000 in seven months so he could see her whenever possible. He is also said to have forked out £20,000 on presents, which included nights at hotels and a necklace worth £2,500.

The report does not specify whether the player is a member of Gareth Southgate's current squad. It does, however, claim he had previously been caught with prostitutes and had promised to change his ways. He is alleged to have gone back on his word when he became infatuated with a blonde escort, to whom he paid vast sums of money.

When they were not together, the unspecified player would inundate the escort with text messages. The player's wife grew suspicious as he continued to arrive home late and smelling of perfume - which she described as "rotten" and "flowery" - while he also became increasingly protective of his phone around the house.

She raised her concerns with other wives and girlfriends from her husband's Premier League team on their WhatsApp group.

Her worst fears were realised when she discovered the texts and pictures while her husband was in the shower, leaving his phone unguarded for her to check.

In the wake of the discovery, she confronted her husband and he confessed he had been seeing the escort. A blazing row is said to have followed which resulted in the player being kicked out of the home for a few days, while his wife then went to stay with her parents.

The report claims the player is on his final warning but must turn on location sharing on Snapchat so his wife knows where he is.

A source told The Sun: "They had issues before, and she never believed he would cheat on her again. She was deeply hurt that he hired an escort and then fell in love with her. Pretty Woman this is not. She wants to walk away for good but is thinking of their family. It's been a rotten time."
