Enzo: I can't go to National team; My knee has bothered me for the past 4 months

After Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez led his team to a 3-0 home victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers in the 11th round of the Premier League, he announced that he would not report to the national team during the upcoming international break.

Enzo Fernández said in an interview with ESPN, "I won't be able to play for the Argentina national team. I just spoke with the medical team, and my knee has been bothering me for the past four months. It started with bone edema, and due to the recent intense schedule of games, the situation has worsened in the past few weeks or even months."

"I, together with the coaching staff, have jointly decided to take a break for a while because there have been too many games and I haven't had a chance to recuperate properly. I think now that the games are almost over, this decision is a wise one. Of course, everything has to respect the doctor's advice." 

"I think it's the best decision to let my knee rest for these two weeks. As everyone knows, I was in a lot of pain last week. I will recover as much as possible during these two weeks. Once I'm fully recovered, I'll return to training at 100% and fight side by side with the team."
