Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has revealed he took off defensive midfielder Casemiro for Christian Eriksen because he 'wanted more football'.
United came back from 1-0 down to beat Brentford 2-1 courtesy of two Scott McTominay goals in added time.
Mathias Jensen gave Brentford a surprise lead away at Old Trafford, and in the week ten Hag's side lost to Galatasary at home in the Champions League it looked like they were on their way to another defeat.
However McTominay's goals saved United's blushes, and boss ten Hag has spoken about his decision to hook defensive midfielder Casemiro at half-time for Christian Eriksen.
Ten Hag explained his decision was because he 'wanted more football' with his side a goal down heading into the half-time break.
The manager also went on to reveal: 'You are relieved in that moment when once again a game that was turning the wrong way for us, we found a turning point,
'It showed the big character in this team, the resilience, and that we have a plan to keep going and you have to make your own luck. We kept patient and carried on. I'm really proud of this team, they kept going the whole game. The belief was there.
'This has to be a turning point but also it has to be a restart because we have to get into higher levels.'
United take on Sheffield United at Bramall Lane next weekend, before facing FC Copenhagen in the Champions League.

Getting too big for your head again ETH. Now you are saying Casemiro was playing hockey hence you removed him. You're destroying these players and think you will get anywhere. What kind of a comment is that from a manager, especially towards one of your best players this season

When you don’t understood what someone said wisdom demands you ask questions for clarity. What Eric ten hag was trying to explain is that he needed more of the attacking force which Casemiro isn’t capable of doing than Erickson. Ten Hag has been the backbone of United since joining the club. Always read and ask questions about what you don’t know. Thanks; I come in peace

Who has been more attacking between Casemiro and Eriksen this season? Casemiro has 4 goals and 1 assist this season whereas Erisksen has 1 goal and 1 assist. As a smart manager, you don't need to say things that will need you to explain deeper to the media, especially about your players because that's simply paving way for disaster. You don't compare your players, you just say it was a tactical change, that's all not to start talking about wanting to play ball. The goal Man U concided was Casemiro's mistake, then you think it's smart as the manager to say such about him after the game?

Needing more football means, he needed more movement and creativity in the middle. Casemiro is stagnant. And it's mostly because of his pivotal role. While Erikson is more fluid. Regarding goals, Casemiro's most goals came from set-pieces. Which are mostly set-up by the skills of players like Erikson, Bruno, etc. . You don't understand football one bit dude.
Did you even read my comment to understand or you just responded to prove yourself? The issue here is not about play style, it's what the manager said about a player after they made a mistake which costed them the goal. So what if Eriksen is more attacking that Casemiro, who has more attacking output between the two of them? Who is more versatile between the two of them and who has been more decisive so far between the two of them? But again, this isn't about Eriksen and Casemiro, it's about the way the manager spoke, singling out Casemiro after a bad game like that.
