Erling Haaland admitted his delight at opening the scoring in the Manchester derby after hearing Man United supporters chant 'Keano' at him while preparing to take his penalty in the first half.
City dominated proceedings at Old Trafford in Sunday's Manchester derby with Haaland scoring twice either side of half time before Phil Foden wrapped up victory with a third goal.
United supporters chanting 'Keano' were referencing the former Red Devils captain's horror tackle on Haaland's dad, Alf-Inge when he was playing for City.
Keane enacted revenge on Haaland Snr in 2001, four-years after the Norwegian was involved in a challenge with the Irishman that saw the United star miss the majority of the 1997/98 campaign.
The outrageous tackle on Haaland eventually led to the end of his professional career and United supporters decided to try and use the incident as a method of distraction in the weekend's Manchester derby. It didn't work.
23-year-old Haaland revealed after the match that he had heard the calls and enjoyed silencing rival fans with his opening goal of the game.
'I heard a lot of people shouting about 'Keano' I don't know why,' the City striker told Sky Sports.
He added a second goal with a brilliant header at the back-post to beat United goalkeeper Andre Onana as City began to exert control on proceedings at the home of their rivals.
Haaland's goalscoring feat in the derby clash put him in further control of the Premier League's goalscoring charts with two goals against United moving him onto 11 strikes for the season so far.
Analysing his follow-up strike against United, Haaland said: 'The second goal was a fantastic leap.
'The first header was an incredible save just before half time. He [Onana] did a fantastic save in the second half where I chipped it and he saved with his head.
'We won - I don't care. It was Amazing, fantastic win and the game was incredible.
'The whole team. Especially Bernardo Silva as well, impressive,' he added.

But why is the media and Man Utd fans not celebrating Onana for saving the team from basket full of goals? Onana deserves respect if he does well.
