Everton are interested in signing Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo in a £30million deal.
New Everton boss Marco Silva, who was coach of Sporting Lisbon when Rojo left the Portuguese club for Old Trafford in a £16m transfer four years ago, has made signing the Argentina centre-back one of his priorities this summer.
Silva knows the 28-year-old well and wants him to play on the left side of a back-three.
United are aware of Everton’s interest but have yet to receive a formal offer.
Rojo went on holiday to Mexico after the World Cup and returned to Manchester last week instead of joining his United teammates on tour in the US.
He was said to be carrying a knock from the tournament in Russia, but the main reason was to discuss his future after learning that he was the most likely of United’s five centre-backs to be sold to make way for a new signing.
United have also received an inquiry from Lyon for Victor Lindelof, who only moved to Old Trafford from Benfica a year ago, but they knocked back the interest from the French club.
Jose Mourinho is desperate to sign a new centre-back before the transfer window closes on August 9, but United are being frustrated in their efforts to prise England defender Harry Maguire from Leicester.
Maguire is thought to be keen on a move, but Leicester don’t have to sell and are reluctant to do so after allowing Riyad Mahrez to join Manchester City.

what do u mean by man u reject are the bad player. just watch n c how all the rejects are going to excel in a different team. man u have a bad manager. so one day u will now call martial reject to. let mou buy Maguire his going to complain next season
Magure is a proven player Rojo as l said is a good player but injury prone, they brought in Rooney who had lost pace due to age and what did that do to the team, upset everything because he was made the main man over players who were there and his wages too. That is why l used the word reject because he was then so when he returned to his boyhood team.

Everton, all Manu rejects end up there and how will it go forward as a club then? Ever since Moyes left have you Everton supporters noticed that there is no youngster who has risen up the ranks to the first team apart rom Rose Buckley, but why is that so,was Martinez to blame for that or since the sale of Lukaku all started to go wrong and you started to bring all Manu rejects and it seems you haven’t stopped. Rojo another wonderful player but injury prone. Why not go abroad or to the championship to sign good players.
