RALF RANGNICK bizarrely rode an E-BIKE across a pitch to get to the tunnel during Austria's World Cup qualifier.
The former Manchester United manager was in charge of the Wunderteam against Bosnia and Herzegovina when he had to jump on the bike.
Rangnick, 67, was filmed zooming across the Stadion Bilino Polje grass at half-time.
The coach could be seen overtaking all of the players before dismounting just before the tunnel.
While Rangnick made his journey, Bosnia coach Sergej Barbarez could be seen walking and applauding the home supporters.
There was a good reason for the bizarre scene as Rangnick recently had emergency surgery on his ankle in the summer.
His first operation was a success but an infection developed.
Rangnick was readmitted to hospital and needed another procedure and he required another surgery.
The German is still feeling the effects of the ordeal and has been trying to limit the number of steps he is taking.
But he would have had a smile on his face at the end of the World Cup qualifier as his Austria side triumphed 2-1.
Former United loanee Marcel Sabitzer scored the opener just a minute before Edin Dzeko equalised.
Konrad Laimer netted what would be the winning goal in the 65th minute.
The result leaves Rangnick's side on 12 points, only behind Bosnia on goal difference but with a game in hand.
Rangnick managed United on an interim basis during the second half of the 2021/22 season.
Rangnick took charge of 29 games during his time in charge of the Red Devils.
He managed 11 wins in that time but was only defeated in eight outings.
He left Old Trafford in 2022 and is now the manager of the Austrian international team.
Austria have four qualifiers remaining in their efforts to qualify for the World Cup next summer.
They next face San Marino on October 9 before a trip to Bucharest to face Romania three days later.
Austria then finishes their qualifying campaign with fixtures against Cyprus and Bosnia.
