Former PSG forward Nene has shown football fans on the streets of Paris that he's still got it at the age of 40 after successfully completing the latest social media craze – the 'lucarne d'Evry' challenge.

For the uninitiated, the lucarne d'Evry challenge – which translates to 'the window of Evry' in English – is a social media craze that took off in 2019 and involves a person kicking a football through a tiny square window from the other side of the street in the Pyramides district in Paris.

On Wednesday, it was Brazilian forward Nene's turn.

The Brazilian veteran is currently visiting close friend and PSG superstar Neymar, who is recovering at home after suffering ankle ligament damage in a Ligue 1 game with Saint-Etienne last month.

But while in the French capital, Nene made his way to the Pyramides district to see if he could succeed where others have previously failed.

With an audience around him, Nene, who is being filmed by a local fan, waits for traffic to clear before expertly curling a left-footed shot directly through the window, with the ball disappearing into the building.

The sublime shot sends his adoring audience into scenes of pandemonium, as children and other onlookers frantically celebrate with the Vasco da Gama forward.

Nene is well-known around these parts of the French capital, having made 112 appearances for PSG, scoring 48 goals and providing 46 assists from 2010 to 2013.

He also made eight appearances for West Ham in 2015 but now is now playing out the final years of his professional career back home in his native Brazil.

As for the window, it has been labelled as 'the most famous window in France', and is now a destination for football fans to visit.

The Evry window has seen many try and fail in their attempts, with both professional footballers and casual players flocking to the building at 24 Rue Jules Vallès to try their luck.

Fortunately, there are only bins stored on the other side of the wall, allowing people to try their luck without damaging local property.

The first recorded attempt took place in 2019, and has since seen the likes of former Bayern Munich and Juventus star Mehdi Benatia attempt the challenge.

The window is even referenced in the national anthem for the France football team for this summer's Euros while it also made an appearance in an adidas advert starring PSG and Argentina star Lionel Messi.

'Everyone wants to come to try their luck, we don't decide on an hour to get together, it's really spontaneous,' a local resident of 30 years told France3.

Now with Nene hitting the sweet spot and the video currently racking up the views on Twitter, the locals of Evry can expect a lot more visits from football fans from all over the world.
