The official documentary of the Qatar 2022 World Cup ('Written in the Stars'), produced by FIFA TV, has included what has become one of the World Cup's most iconic (and awkward) moments in its production: Messi's incident with Dutch striker Weghorst in the stadium tunnels.
It reveals the moment the Dutch striker waited for Messi to try and shake hands with him while as he was walking back to the dressing room with teammate Rodrigo De Paul.
Messi did not acknowledge the player after the extremely final moments of the match, which saw players from both sides virtually almost come to blows. In the case of Weghorst, the striker had a heated exchange with 'Kun' Agüero, Lautaro and Lisandro Martínez before staring from afar at the former Barca player.
Messi reacted angrily to Weghorst who was intensely looking at him - he clearly interpreted it as being a provocative gesture. The PSG player's reaction has since gone down in history and will be remembered as one of the most awkward yet hilarious moments of the tournament. "What are you looking at, you fool?" ("¿Qué miras bobo?" in Spanish), said Leo in the middle of a live interview with TyC Sports.

Believe me, if Messi had played in Europe, his international goals would have been 250+ by the end of his career 🙂

📸 | Sergio Aguero attended the Kings League Final Four (the seven-a-side football league established by Gerard Pique) at Camp Nou on March 26. As the president of the Kunisports team, the Argentine was asked to take a penalty kick. The former Barcelona striker converted it with ease and then imitated Leo Messi's celebration from the 2022 World Cup match against the Netherlands. Camp Nou, with over 92,000 people in attendance, was chanting his name in the meantime. Sergio may have played only five games for Barca, but the fans adore him! 😍 @EK10
