Fabregas meets with Ancelotti and Real Madrid director to discuss transfers

Como manager Cesc Fabregas is in his first season as a manager in top flight football, and has wasted little time in using his connections in Spanish football to bolster his squad. The likes of Pepe Reina, Alex Valle, Alberto Moreno, Sergi Roberto, Assane Diao, Anastasios Douvikas, Nico Paz and Ivan Azon have all joined in the last year, but Como are not stopping there.

Of course the big talking point around Como in recent months is the future of Nico Paz. Real Madrid are reportedly looking into exercising their €9m buyback option on the Argentina international, while Inter and Arsenal have also taken an interest in him.

According to ABC, as carried by MD, Cesc Fabregas met with Carlo Ancelotti and Academy Director Manu Fernandez to discuss his future this week at Rreal Madrid’s Valdebebas training ground. He was trying to persuade Ancelotti to leave Paz at Como for another year, so as not to halt his development, something Ancelotti is not against. However if Arda Guler does depart for more game time in the summer, that could alter their plans.

He was not the only name that they discussed though. Fabregas also expressed an interest in a trio of Castilla players, namely Gonzalo Garcia Torres, Jacobo Ramon and Chema Andres.

While Ancelotti will clearly have an opinion on the Paz’s future, it seems unlikely that he will have a final say on the matter, with General Manager Jose Angel Sanchez and Head Scout Juni Calafat often deciding transfer strategy.

Garcia has been linked with an exit in the summer, with Los Blancos hoping to bring in €10m for the striker’s services., while Jacobo Ramon has been on the fringes of the first team. Andres less so, and his future is less clear beyond the end of this season.
