In the 25th round of Serie A, Como 1-2 lost to Fiorentina.
Como player Morata, who came off the bench, clashed with opponent Mandragora near the end of the match and was then shown a yellow card by referee Matteo Marchetti.
Soon after, Morata had another conflict with Fiorentina defender Luca Ranieri. After communicating with the referee team, Marchetti sent the 33-year-old off the field. Morata was emotionally agitated, made frantic gestures, completely lost control, and angrily walked off the field, where he was comforted by the team doctor.
Como coach Fabregas publicly criticized Morata after the match: "Provocation is part of football. People who can't accept that should quit. He is an experienced player, and I have higher expectations of him in this regard. I don't like making excuses. We must focus on our own game. What others say should not affect us."
