Football fans have mocked Wout Faes after his pair of own goals against Liverpool on Friday.

The Leicester defender put two into his own net within eight first-half minutes as the Foxes lost 2-1 against Jurgen Klopp's side at Anfield on Friday night.

Centre back Faes, 24, who joined the Premier League side in September from French side Reims for £15million, haplessly put his side behind in two unfortunate incidents.

And fans quickly took to social media to criticise the Belgian's performance.

One said: 'Faes is having a b****y nightmare in this game.'

Another added: 'Faes having an absolute nightmare here . Although i quite fancy him for his hatrick #LIVLEI.'

A third posted: 'Oh my days that Faes is dreadful,' followed by several cry-laughing emojis.

One tweeted: 'Double OG for Faes, shocker!'. Another continued on the same theme: 'Wout Faes having an absolute shocker.'

Two more echoed those thoughts, saying: 'Faes is having a shocker' and 'Faes having an absolute shocker!#LIVLEI.'

Brendan Rodgers' side took the lead inside five minutes via Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, before Faes' unlucky actions saw them behind at half-time.

First, he swung his foot at a Trent Alexander-Arnold cross and what should have been a simple clearance sliced horribly off his foot and floated agonisingly over goalkeeper Danny Ward.

Then Darwin Nunez burst through and chipped the ball over the goalkeeper, with the ball rebounding off the post, hitting a retreating Faes, whose attempted clearance was scooped accidentally into his own net.
