VAR was under the spotlight once again during Tottenham's clash with Chelsea on Sunday as Moises Caicedo escaped punishment for an ugly challenge on Pape Matar Sarr.
Caicedo went over the ball and caught the Spurs man on his shin with his studs with Sky's match commentators Peter Drury and Jamie Carragher both immediately saying that he could be in big trouble.
However, Carragher was left shocked as the VAR quickly ruled that no further action needed to be taken.
'What? Have I missed something there? That is unbelievable,' the former Liverpool man said.
'I don't like seeing people get sent off, I always think the officials should do as much as they can to keep it 11v11 but it was absolutely certain it was going to be a red card. They've got away with a huge one there, Chelsea.'
Caicedo was not even booked for the incident and the majority of fans on social media were in clear agreement with Carragher.
One posted on X: 'yes, that should have been a red card for Caicedo after a dangerous challenge on Sarr. How he ended up not receiving a booking at all for this is beyond me.'
Another wrote that it 'should be a red for Caicedo' while journalist Henry Winter asked how on earth did Caicedo not see red for that challenge on Pape Sarr?'
Caicedo remained on the pitch and would prove to have a huge impact on the game.
Tottenham establised an early 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Dominic Solanke and Dejan Kulusevski.
However, Chelsea hit back through a fine strike from Jadon Sancho before Caicedo won his side a penalty, which was dispatched by Cole Palmer.

Delusional. Sound like you didn’t watch the game and saw a picture. A direct red for that would be insanely soft. Grazed the shin on a follow through from a missed tackle with clear intent to play the ball. Yellow at best, just for caution

last two season Romero on cucurella challenge pulling off his hair he didn't saw a yellow card despite red card and we went on to draw with Kane equalizer, the book has been balanced now 😀
So Cucurella had a head injury when his hair was pulled????

Karma is real. Romero didn't get sent off for a blatant action, and now Caicedo was lucky as well...can't always get it your way
