In the fourth round of the Champions League group stage, Barcelona beat Aston Villa 3-0 at home. In the 52nd minute, Fermín López played a through ball to Raphinha, who scored with a low shot from inside the box that took a deflection on its way into the net, extending the team's lead.
This is Fermín's third consecutive Champions League match with a direct goal involvement. He previously scored in the 4-1 away win against Galatasaray from an assist by Yamal, and in the away game at Paris Saint-Germain he came off the bench to provide an assist for Xavi Espart's equalizer. With one goal and two assists in his last three Champions League games, the 23-year-old Spanish midfielder has directly contributed to three goals.
A product of La Masia, Fermín's tireless running and forward-thinking awareness have made him an indispensable piece in Flick's tactical system.
