A battle between rival fans in Bilbao has led to the death of a police officer, according to reports in Spain.
Supporters of Athletic Bilbao and Spartak Moscow fought in the streets around the Basque club's San Mames stadium, in the build up to their Europa League tie on Thursday evening.
Athletic had emerged victorious in the first leg in Russia last week, running out 3-1 winners in Moscow.
Rival hooligans fought in the streets in the hours leading up to kickoff on Thursday night.
According to AS, five people were taken to the Basurto University hospital before the game, before it was announced at 10pm local time that a member of the Ertzaintza - the Basque civilian police - had lost his life.

Both teams should be banned for 10 years from Europe like an English would have been..Russia should be stripped of the World Cup so fans from other country's don't have confront their thug hooligans who will no doubt cause injury and death to innocent fans in their country.
