Finally back! Bundesliga confirm to resume play on May 16 behind closed doors

The Bundesliga is to restart its season on May 16. The DFL, which operates the league, confirmed the decision after Chancellor Angela Merkel and state premiers had given it the green light.

DFL CEO Christian Seifert confirms in a press conference that the plan for the Bundesliga is to resume playing on May 16th.

Clubs have been informed of the date and can begin to ramp up training in preparation.

Saturday fixtures:

- Dortmund vs. Schalke

- Leipzig vs. Freiburg

- Hoffenheim vs. Hertha BSC

- Dusseldolf vs. Paderborn

- Augsburg vs. Wolfsburg

- Frankfurt vs. M'Gladbach 

Sunday fixtures:

- Cologne vs. Mainz

- Union Berlin vs. Bayern Munich

Monday fixtures: 

- Werder Bremen vs. Leverkusen

Also, it has been confirmed that Dortmund vs Bayern (matchday 28) will be a midweek game and will take place at Signal Iduna Park on 26 or 27 May.
