Alvaro Odriozola has played just 57 minutes of football at Real Madrid this season and, as such, a departure is on the cards, with Serie A club Fiorentina interested in his services.
The Basque right-back was one of two players left out of the matchday squad for the Supercopa de Espana semi-final defeat to Athletic Club on Thursday night, and the only match he has played in this season came against Real Valladolid back in September.
Now, according to Gianluca Di Marzio, Fiorentina have Odriozola as one of the players on their shortlist and could look to complete a loan move for the Real Madrid defender.
It was this time last year that the 25-year-old departed Los Blancos on loan, heading to Bayern Munich for the final six months of the season. He did not play much in Germany, but he returned with three trophies: the Champions League, Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal.
Odriozola found himself clearly behind Dani Carvajal in the pecking order upon his return to Real Madrid, while Zinedine Zidane has preferred to play either Lucas Vazquez or Nacho Fernandez in this role when Carvajal is unavailable.
Athletic are another of the clubs that have been linked with Odriozola, but they seem to have cover in this position with Ander Capa and Oscar de Marcos, so a move to Fiorentina could suit all parties.

Man I understand that Carvajal is our undisputed starter at RB but when he's unable to play Odriozola should be the next in line! No matter how good Lord Vazquezinho is when he plays there!😒 What's the point in having him in the squad if he doesn't play? The level of trust Zidane has in players that weren't a part of the 3 consecutive UCL's triumphant era is DISGRACEFUL😴 If I'm Odriozola I'd leave without looking back.

if you think Vasquez is not good and odriozola is better than him at right back just bcoz Vasquez concede a penalty then you should check on odriozola when he plays, odrio give away stupid foul in the penalty area, and Vasquez can defend more than odrio. odriozola is also a converted winger, he's not a natural right back. When do Madrid fans start to believe with Vasquez, it's when he plays at right back last month at the absent of carvajal

No more players out please...you see Madrid only has Carvajal as right back and Vazquez has been placed in a position which he doesn’t fit by Zizou. Odriozola could be the only “true” right back to fix the hole if Carvajal misses any game.... The squad really needs depth!
