The former Man Utd stalwart has condemned the Frenchman's attitude prior to the Portuguese's sacking, insisting he needs a 'kick up the backside'
Former Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher has questioned the conduct of Paul Pogba after he appeared to revel in Jose Mourinho's departure from Old Trafford.
The 55-year-old coach was shown the exit door on Tuesday after two and a half years at the club, with the team sitting in sixth place in the Premier League.
Moments after the announcement was made, Pogba took to social media to post a smirking image of himself while igniting a caption contest, which was quickly deleted.
The post was later explained by sponsors Adidas who said in the Mirror: "Pogba's social media posts were a scheduled event, part of a marketing campaign.
"[It was] immediately taken down once it became apparent that it could be misconstrued as disrespectful to Manchester United and Jose Mourinho."
Pogba's relationship with Mourinho had become fractious in recent months, with many citing the 25-year-old's lack of professionalism as a prime example of player power in the modern game.
Fletcher is the latest man to take umbrage with him, telling BBC 5 Live Sport: "He has not conducted himself well recently and he needs a kick up the backside.
"And I think his post today, whether it was his team or whatever, it was totally out of order. That's a big concern for me.
"It's another concern because everyone talked about who is going to go - Pogba or Mourinho? Someone needs to get hold of Pogba and tell him this wasn't a battle between him and Mourinho and he's won.
"A new manager has to come in and demand more of Pogba to lead the team forward."
The Red Devils are set to appoint a temporary manager to take charge until the end of the season and hope to have the new man in place before heading to Cardiff City in the Premier League on Saturday.
Beyond that Tottenham's Mauricio Pochettino has been linked with the permanent managerial post and Fletcher believes he would be the ideal candidate to lead the club forward.
"He ticks all the boxes for United as he has proven at Southampton and Spurs he can develop young players; he's got an attacking style and he's had confrontations with players but dealt with it fantastically," he added.
"If Pochettino has ambitions of winning things then, if United come calling, he'd be more than interested."
United currently trail Premier League leaders Liverpool by 19 points and sit 11 behind fourth-placed Chelsea, meaning they now face the very real prospect of finishing outside the Champions League places.
Fletcher refused to blame Mourinho outright for the team's recent decline, before advising the Portuguese tactician to take a break from football.
"I'm not saying that's necessarily his fault," he continued. "Maybe it's to do with the modern player - but I'd love to see Mourinho have a good break, come back and try to evolve a bit to bring back the old Mourinho that everyone loved."

I agree a bit Paul attitude towards Jose was kinda of wanky no player is bigger than the club no matter how good or talented u may be ..The club remains the head I think the issue between Paul and jose has subsided now that Jose has been sacked there's no need to talk about that anymore but Paul should work on he's attitude and he's relationship with he's coach...A club can't be great without a player who works together with he's coach ...I hope ole does well for the team Good Luck

Messi has won 5 balloon Dior, he has worked under different managers at Barcelona if am not wrong may be 4...He has never came to confrontation with his coach he has worked with...He does have side shows that are not healthy in his Carrier ever since he was a teenager until his Maturity as a player.. What does that tell you? He is a displine player no matter his name or what he has archived...All this archivements from Messi is because of Displine, hardwork,Loyalty and respect. And this is what Pogba doesn't have, he needs to change his attitude and needs to be displine or else he will be just dreaming of becoming the best player in Europe if not the World. A player without displine, its like a team that plays well, possess, attack but at the end of 90min..it losses the Match, which add up to nothing.. Because the best part of the game is to score goals and earn three points.. You know what I mean.

Fletcher is only looking for where to be heard. And now, he found one in Pogba. The truth is that, Pogba may be the scapegoat, but it has now clear that almost all the senior players were at loggerheads with Jose Mourinho. Give it to Pogba for making it known to the public and while others went underneath pretending all is well. That proved costly for Mourinho. Mr Fletcher, you are wrong! Pogba has never made any derogatory statement about the club but, the manager unsettled him and made him a sacrificial lamb among the team.

Mourinho’s way of coaching has passed it’s use by date. He refuses to admit that his system no longer gets results. He has no tact when dealing with players fans board members and the media. He refuses to take any responsibility, blaming everyone except himself. Instead of building a team around his best players he prefers to bench them to prove he is the man in charge, prepared to loose a game to prove a point. He poisoned Chelsea, loosing the support of Hazard and other players and he has done the same at United. Fletcher doesn’t want to blame Mourinho? He certainly hasn’t been paying any attention to where United are sitting on the table, all because Mourinho wants it his way or the highway. Bom voyage José, I’m sure you will find another club to destroy.

Good talk Fletcher, if he does not perform he should be shown the door as Mou too.In our dialect there is a saying what has happened to cocoa can also affect coffee. So Pogba the ball is in your court. Play it

Mourinho, you have reached the pinnacle of your career as a professional football manager. Porto, Chelsea, Inter Milan, Real Madrid and Man United. Who else is there?Just take your payout and go for a sabbatical and enjoy your time with your family.Special one like you will never be short of suitors. The football world will miss you especially the media who love to create controversies out of you to make money. Take your sacking as blessing in disguise. All the best.

It seems as though when a manager gets sack, a player is made a scapegoat, at Chelsea, it was Hazard /Willian, now at Manchester united, it's Pogba, some commentators are saying that some players feel they are bigger than the club, the manager is responsible for selecting his team, he knows his players, if he don't have the trust of the dressing room, then he has to go, when player come to a club, they have expectations as well as the managers, if a manager keep putting down his players it's obvious they will respond in ways available to them, from pre-season, Mourinho has been embarrassing his players and it was going unabated, these players are human first with feelings, the more you embarrassed someone, it will affect their game, Mourinho failed at player management and he paid the price, Pogba mistake is taking down his post, he should of left it there, as Willian did with his Chelsea winning team post covering Conte image with a trophy
