Flick frustrated by latest Raphinha setback

Barcelona may have to make some changes behind the scenes as Hansi Flick looks to address Raphinha's injury troubles.

Raphinha will miss Tuesday's Copa del Rey clash with Albacete due to an adductor issue.

The Brazil forward has managed just 14 appearances in all competitions this season due to a series of niggling injuries. He has scored eight goals and laid on three assists.

Raphinha scored 34 goals and provided 22 assists last term, helping Barca win a domestic treble.

But with Raphinha set to miss another key game, Flick did not hide his frustration.

He said: "To be honest, I'm not happy about this. He's a very important player for us.

"We'll see what he'll have to change and what we'll have to change.

"Now the important part of the season is starting, and we need everyone. When he can't play, it's not good."

Albacete stunned Real Madrid in the last 16, and Flick is not underestimating the second-tier club.

"We always analyse our opponents, and the matches against Celta Vigo and Real Madrid are very important to see what Albacete did well," he said.

"It's primarily about the mentality and attitude we bring to the pitch. We need to improve the small details, also with an eye to the future.

"I really liked the match against Elche [last weekend]. I liked how we played, but it's true that we missed some great chances.

"It's not about striving for perfection, but about progress, and I think we've progressed a lot.

"The team needs confidence and for us to believe in them. Mentality is crucial. There's a lot of quality, but mentality is key."

Despite the sale of youngster Dro Fernandez to Paris Saint-Germain, Flick is content with his squad heading into the second half of the season, with the winter transfer window now closed.

He added: "We're happy with the situation. I didn't like Dro leaving, but there was nothing I could do.

"I'm glad because if everyone is at their best, it will be difficult to pick the starters. We've done our job well."
