Real Madrid president Florentino Perez said that Cristiano Ronaldo's impact at the club will never be forgotten and then he is a worthy successor to the legendary Alfredo Di Stefano.
He also praised the role of Zinedine Zidane in the history of Madrid at an assembly meeting of members on Sunday.
Both pillars of the club left over the summer and Los Blancos have had to adapt under Julen Lopetegui.
"(Cristiano) is one of the key figures as he is the top scorer in the history of the club and worthy successor to Di Stefano," explained Perez.
"He is stand-out figure and his legend will be told from generation to generation. An example for everyone who wears this shirt. Thank you Cristiano.
"(Zidane) is another of our all-time references. As coach he has entered history as one of the greatest at Real Madrid. He is one of our biggest legends and he along with Cristiano know that this will always be his home."
Perez looked back over the successes of the past season.
"Madrid are the European champions in both football and basketball for the first time in its history," he continued.
"We are proud to be living a historic moment on a sporting, economic and social level. The 13th win continued a project that begun in 2000 and once again Madrid have become the only club to win three straight Champion Leagues as a result of our sporting project, the Bernabeu effect, the best players in the world and putting emphasis in youth.
"We have the best players here, a spectacular squad with eleven in FIFA's list of players of the season. Modric was picked as best player, best Champions League midfielder and is a candidate for 'The Best' award. A special mention should also be made to Varane who is world champion with France."
Perez also referred to the Madrid youth which has come to the fore.
"Vinicius is one of the upcoming stars and there is Odriozola," he stated.
"Ten players in the first team have come through the youth ranks and that is our strategy."

Hopefully he gets honored in one way or the other at the club. In his first term while he was hell bent on a galactico policy, he helped improved the financial condition of the club massively and honestly made us self sustainable. In his second all he did was build one of the greatest club sides of all time. He learns from his mistakes and that's one of the best things about him. The only reason I'm calm through this rebuild is because of him. I know he'll make the best decisions on moving the club forward.

The picture is shot when Zizo decided to leave Madrid. Can't we see how he is worried and devoted to the club. You could dislike him, but please respect.

Sometimes he seems creul when handling the issue with players, but he is decisive and dedicated to the club as a whole. I would say there is no 3 UCL champions in a role without hime. Best president afer Bernabeu
