Footage of Kylian Mbappe's meeting with Salt Bae has emerged online - with fans claiming it looked 'uncomfortable' for the Paris Saint-Germain star.
The Turkish chef was back in the spotlight this week after randomly appearing on the pitch following Argentina's World Cup final victory over France.
Salt Bae - real name Nusret Gokce - was blanked for a selfie by Lionel Messi but still managed to touch the World Cup trophy. That goes against strict FIFA regulations, with the governing body confirming an investigation into the matter earlier this week.
He's got previous with meeting famous footballers. Back in July 2021, Mbappe paid a visit to his Nusr-Et Steakhouse in Mykonos, Greece. Check out a video of their interaction below.
Sat next to Salt Bae, the 24-year-old says: "It was a good night. A pleasure to come with my man."
The butcher then replies: "Always", before shaking Mbappe's hand. The World Cup winner winks at the camera as Salt Bae puts his arm around his neck to kisses Mbappe on the cheek.
Supporters have taken issue with the video as it looks incredibly awkward for Mbappe to film.
One person said: "Mbappe looked uncomfortable af in this video."
Another added: "Why did he do that?"
A third commented: "I personally wouldn't let that slide."
While someone put: "It's the ending for me."
Gokce looks to have a long-standing friendship with FIFA president Gianni Infantino, who described him as 'a legend' in a video on Salt Bae’s Instagram page last year.
Infantino said: "Mr Nusret, number one. The best of the best. An unforgettable evening here in Dubai with Nusret. I’ll come back."
He added: "Legend, he’s a legend. Legend number one. Thank you very much."
Infantino has since unfollowed Salt Bae on Instagram.
A FIFA statement reads: "Following a review, FIFA has been establishing how individuals gained undue access to the pitch after the closing ceremony at Lusail stadium on 18 December. The appropriate internal action will be taken."
Mbappe scored a hat-trick in the World Cup final, the first player to do so since Sir Geoff Hurst in 1966.
It wasn't enough as penalty shootout misses from Kingsley Coman and Aurelien Tchouameni were enough to seal a third World Cup for Argentina.
Significantly, it was Lionel Messi's first World Cup in what is likely to be his his final appearance at the tournament.
