Forensic tests find traces of Dani Alves' DNA inside victim's body

Dani Alves is starting to face serious complications regarding his provisional release from prison and the police are closing in on the Brazilian player with each passing day.

Forensic reports provided to the 15th Court of Instruction in Barcelona indicate that the remains of semen found inside the victim's body, on the floor of the Sutton nightclub toilet and on the girl's clothes have the same genetic profile as the sample that was given by the former Barcelona defender.

Therefore, this expert evidence would reinforce the version of sexual assault reported by the victim, since in his judicial statement, after modifying his version three times, Dani Alves acknowledged that the woman performed fellatio on him and that it was consensual.

However, the results of the National Institute of Toxicology and Forensic Sciences were obtained from various intravaginal samples taken from the victim, as well as from her clothes and the floor, as reported by 'El Periodico'.

The rapid deployment of the sexual assault protocol at the Sutton nightclub led a Mossos d'Esquadra patrol to recover traces of semen from the bathroom floor.

This, together with the examination of the victim at the Hospital Clinic, showed that she had biological remains that were not hers.

She herself brought the clothes she was wearing that night to the police and more biological remains were found there. All of them belonging to Dani Alves.

Alves wants provisional release

With this latest evidence that has become known, the presumed guilt of Alves, who only acknowledged consensual fellatio after denying knowing the victim in his first statement, has grown yet further.

The Barcelona Court of Appeal is due to rule in the coming weeks on the player's request to be provisionally released from prison while these proceedings are being investigated.

Both the Public Prosecutor's Office and the private prosecution are opposed to the Brazilian player's release from pre-trial detention, as they believe that he is a flight risk.

They also have pointed to the fact that he has considerable assets in Spain and Brazil, a country to which he could flee. It's worth noting that Brazil doesn't have an extradition process for sexual assault crimes.
