Sam Surridge thought he had levelled but his goal was ruled out by the video assistant referee for offside.
Wout Weghorst then scored his first goal for United right before half-time as he poked in a rebounce after Antony's shot was saved.
Bruno Fernandes drilled in a late third goal to extend Red Devils' comfortable lead into the second leg.

for me Lisandro Martinez is the MOTM π€π― he made huge interceptions and blocks that kept us the cleansheet. this is good because it means Maguire will play the second leg. on weekend Luke Shaw can come back as the center back for Martinez while Varane comes in for Lindelof π€π― or Maguire might play and Lindelof play as the right back. Sancho also might come back, not sure about Martial
