If Elliott Anderson is sold by Nottingham Forest this summer, he is expected to break the transfer fee record for an English player. The Mail reports that Forest's asking price for him is higher than the £105 million Arsenal paid for Rice three years ago.

Man City and Man United are both highly interested in the English midfielder. Man City's initial bid last week was rejected, and a new offer is expected in the coming days.

According to the Daily Mail, Nottingham Forest's asking price for him exceeds the £105 million Arsenal paid West Ham United for Declan Rice three years ago, with the club ideally seeking £110 million.

Anderson is currently preparing for the World Cup with Thomas Tuchel's England team. The team will play its first group-stage match against Croatia on June 17. Provided he is fit, Anderson is almost certain to partner Rice as a starting midfielder.

Anderson previously moved from Newcastle to Nottingham Forest for a transfer fee of £35 million. During his time at Forest, he has made a total of 92 appearances, including 50 in all competitions this season.

It is understood that Anderson personally prefers to join Man City over Man United, but Man United have not given up on trying to sign him.
