Former Liverpool player takes another dig at Lukaku and Pogba

Graeme Souness has once again taken aim at his favourite target, Manchester United's Paul Pogba.

He also had words for Romelu Lukaku, who finally got his wish after leaving United for Inter Milan in a deal worth £73million.

Writing in The Times, former Liverpool player and manager Souness said 'f I'm sitting in Manchester United's dressing room today, I'm glad Romelu Lukaku has gone and don't want Paul Pogba in there with me either if he's not up for the fight ahead and is also keen to get away.'

He also wrote: 'They're as responsible as anybody for the predicament United are in, yet have effectively said to their teammates: "It's everybody else's fault." "No, let's get it right, lads, you're part of the reason United are not in the Champions League this year."'

He also says Real Madrid are still after Paul Pogba 'on the cheap because they’re suspicious of his form, while Inter haggled over the asking price for Lukaku because he didn’t pull up any trees at United either.'

With Lukaku gone and Pogba perhaps also heading out the door, Souness believes that there is now pressure on Marcus Rashford to perform for United.

He is not convinced the 21-year-old is ready to handle the pressure, adding: 'he doesn’t have the penalty-box craft of, say, Sergio Aguero yet, but can learn that.

'It’s the same with Rashford’s finishing — sometimes it takes your breath away; sometimes he freezes when confronted by a goalkeeper.'
