Frank Lampard has labelled Paul Pogba a 'Youtube' player and insists he still does not know what the Manchester United star adds to Jose Mourinho's squad.
Pogba endured a difficult second season back at Old Trafford, and was dropped in patches by his Portuguese boss over a series of ineffectual performances in the centre of the park.
The most consequential of those decision saw him being left out of the starting line up for the Champions League last 16 first-leg clash against Sevilla.
It was hoped it would send a message to the France international but Lampard worries that Mourinho's message has not gotten through.
'I don't know what Pogba is,' Lampard said while speaking at an FWA Live event on Thursday. 'He makes bad decisions but then does fantastic things which must wreck Jose's head.
'Mourinho tried to embarrass him out of it and I worry Pogba did not get it.'
Lampard knows exactly what it takes to dominate games from the middle of the park and is the Premier League's all-time top scorer from midfield.
He admits that Pogba possesses much greater ability than him, but warns that it is currently going to waste, unless the £89million talent, who only had six top-flight goals to his name this season, can find his focus at Old Trafford.
'Pogba is naturally more talented than I was, he would run all over me and has better feet, but there's no point dribbling in your own half.
'All that 'flick and roll of the studs', I'm not an advocate of that. A lot of young players see it on YouTube and think it's amazing but I don't like it.
'He has delved to that side too much. His numbers are not good enough, he progressed at Juve but there's another progression he has to do.
'He should be getting 15 goals a season and dominating games, because he has everything.'

Id have Frank Lampard over Pogba all day long. The guy could read a game like most couldnt, he always seemed to be in the right place and would take a game by the scruff of the neck and beat it til they scored. the guy could strike a ball better then most. im putting this quote down to "i dont want to sound big headed and say im better then a player someone paid £95m for". a bit like when Pele gets asked who the best ever player, he will say anyone but him

Honestly if he just studied Lampard and copied him style for style he would dominate so hard. A lot of the reason he probably hasn't been able to is to do with playing a 4231, hopefully we get another midfielder so we can consistently play 433 and Pogba can be more offensively aggressive, which we've seen towards the end of the season when Ander came back.

Whilst this has turned into a predictable thread bashing Pogba and Mourinho(some clown said that Mourinho will turn him into Obi Mikel which has predictably been upvoted by morons here). Both of them are fundamentally different players. Lampard had a supreme timing in the box which helped him to score those goals plus he was also the designated penalty taker for him team which helped boost his goal tally. Pogba is more of a creator than Lampard. Lampard was genuinely world class but also reached his absolute peak at 27-28, let's see if Pogba reaches that level in two years time.
